About Me
I am Tan Tao. I am currently a first-year Ph.D. student in Computer & Information Science & Engineering at Syracuse University, supervised by Dr. Bryan S. Kim.
Before that, I obtained my M.S.E in Computer Science & Engineering from the University of Michigan, and my B.S. in Computer Science with High Honor from Michigan State University.
My research sits somewhere between storage systems, operating systems, and machine learning. I am interested in how modern systems store, move, and protect data across emerging storage, memory, and architecture technologies, such as SSDs, flash memory, and CXL.
Outside of research, I enjoy playing the violin, swimming and playing badminton. These hobbies help me stay balanced, or at least help me pretend that my TODO list is shorter than it actually is. 😆
